Withy Stipping Machines
Two withy stripping machines in use. The stripped bark is lying in front of the machines. The withies are being pushed onto the rotating drums from behind, which get caught in between the metal prongs of the withy brakes sticking out of the drums, which takes off outer bark. It was hard, physical work.
